5 plumbing problems you shouldn’t ignore

Burst pipes

Burst pipes can happen for many reasons including improper installations and cold weather. No matter the reason, they are not something that should be ignored for long. Not only can they lead to major leaks, but they can also lead to greatly reduced water pressure and even contaminated water.

Clogged drains

Clogged drains are perhaps the most common problem. Fortunately, most clogged drains can be fixed easily using a plunger or a drain snake, but in some cases there is a deeper underlying cause, which would require a deeper diagnostic.

Broken Shut Off Valves

Broken shut off valves are extremely easy to miss until you need to shut off your water for one reason or another. They can create strong leaks and waste tons of water over a period of time. The process for replacing a broken shut off valve differs depending on the type of shut off valve in your home and what you plan on replacing it with.

Low Water Pressure

If the water pressure in your home is significantly lower than usual, it might indicate a major leak or a burst pipe in the home. Check the water pressure at each fixture in your house. If some are running better than others, it might help you pinpoint the location of the problem.

Clogged Toilet

You will definitely want to deal with this one sooner rather than later. If a clogged toilet backs up too much, it can deposit dirty water in your home which can cause damage to your flooring and walls. It is also a major health hazard.
